Market Outlook / Competition
The venue is in a niche for families that want more than just a reception location. Most clients want a three-day and two-night experience with a rehearsal dinner, ceremony the next day, and a brunch on the final day. Since we recently expanded the patio, we have found that the venue commands higher prices since over 150 people can be accomodated. Located 40 minutes from the Austin airport and 25 minutes from the San Antonio airport, West River House can draw from all the major universities including those in the Dallas and Houston metro areas.
Opportunities for Growth
Since we expanded the patio and finished the gardens, clients have great choices for ceremonies and dinner receptions. We strictly rent tables, chairs and the venue. We allow clients to bring in their own alcohol, caterers etc. Packages could expand to include those items. As it is, there is pretty good demand for three day weekends at $8500. Single day events on the weekend: $5000. Midweek three day weddings are $5000. The midweek opportunity was not something we planned on but it certainly can bring revenues to over $500,000. Strictly 5 star rated.
