Los Angeles California equipment rental company for sale.
I started this business 10 years ago renting equipment to the television, motion picture and commercial film industry. It was a start up where I only provided restroom rentals, soon after I expanded to trash bins then lighting, tables, chairs, canopies and now we rent over 2 dozen different items to production. Some of our clients are Sony, Disney, Netflix, NBC, ABC, Universal just to name a few. During Covid like the rest of the world the industry froze but we bounced back in 2022. Then came the 10 month strike in 2023 things were slow as so much of production not only left the state but the country as well. Filming is headed back to Hollywood now as the CA. Governor has signed a bill giving 750M in tax credits to productions and the Los Angeles Mayor Bass has created a filming office where production companies get expedited assistance with permit and filming issues. So filming is headed back to Hollywood the filming capital of the world.
Reel Solutions is a CA S Corporation and is headquartered in Moorpark CA. The location can be relocated to anywhere in the greater Los Angeles service area. I picked Moorpark because buying my own building was important to me and industrial buildings with enough land to park more than 2 dozen large vehicles was more cost effective in Moorpark plus being across the street from the Sherriff station has its advantages.
Orders are placed byway of the locations department contacting us and ordering whatever equipment they need from restrooms to trash bins, lighting, cooling, heating, lunch trailers and so on. We provide an estimate within a day and receive a PO number. In most cases we then make the delivery or is some cases production send traspo to pick up the order. Some rentals are for a day others for a week or more. Currently I have 2 of the lunch trailers on rental for a "run of the show" for 16 weeks.
The lunch trailers are the latest rental services that we have expanded into which was in June 2023 and was a 400K investment and as of July 2025 we have recouped back 80% of that investment. We expanded into the lunch trailers because there is only 1 competitor in the Los Angeles market unlike trash, restrooms and so on where there are several competitors for each.
Most of my trailers are custom made to order including the lunch trailers. We customize them to fit the needs of the locations department.
I am hands on this company and work 30 hours a week as it is a little slower then I like however the industry consciences is by January 2026 thing will be back in full swing due to the governmental assistance and the 750M tax credit for the industry.
Due to the 2023 writers and actors strike I expanded the rental business beyond the film industry and started renting our luxury restroom trailers to the event industry like weddings, baby showers, birthdays and so on, with this additional income stream we increased our market share in 2024 by $62K and are on track in 2025 for the same.

We are located in Moorpark CA just 40 minutes for down town Hollywood. I selected Moorpark for our location as it is centrally located to key filming sites like Santa Clarita’s Golden Valley Filming Ranch only 20 miles, 25 miles from Burbank where several major studios can be found like Warner Brothers and Disney. We are only 30 minutes from the beaches like Zuma and Leo Carrillo which are desired beach filming locations. I also found real estate more cost effective outside the Los Angeles markets.

Market Outlook / Competition
The film industry has had challenges over the last several years, after Covid we did 1.2M in 2022. In 2023 there was the 10 month Writers strike where we did 241K. In 2024 things improved as we grossed 980K. We have seen a lot of filming leave Hollywood however California’s Governor just signed a 750M tax credit for the film industry which is bring filming back.
Opportunities for Growth
There is much room to expand market share here in Hollywood and abroad. Some of the market competitors have left the industry so there is less competition then pre covid. Expanding to additional markets is a very strong possibility like Las Vegas and or Nashville Tennessee just to name a two.
