Sports Card Store - Hobby Shop - Owner Financing Available
Business Description
Established sports cards and collectibles store for sale. The store makes a good profit and is self sufficient without owner participation, but an owner operator would do much better as the more you work it, the more you can earn.
Sports cards and TCG are the main business but in the current configuration we also carry games, LEGO, RC, comics and toys. But we are separating the sports/TCG to make it it's own store. We purchase sports cards directly from Fanatics (Topps), Tristar, Super Breaks, and Historic Autographics. Fanatics is the main account as they acquired the baseball business 2 years ago, and are taking over soccer, basketball and football in 2026. The license to purchase from Fanatics is exclusive for this area.
We also have direct accounts with Peach State Distribution (for sports and TCG cards, games and toys), and Southern Hobby Distribution (for sports and TCG cards, games and toys). We have two Whatnot channels with over 10,000 followers included with sale.
The store is modern and contemporary, highlighted by 10 glass lighted display cases. The store has cameras everywhere, steel bars on the doors and windows, and a full sound and motion alarm system. We also own the shopping plaza so a long term lease if available.
Located in a strip mall on the main road to southern RI and the southern beaches - with thousands of cars pass daily and we get a tremendous amount more of tourism traffic in the summers. We have a loyal following of customers that grows daily. Owner financing available if down payment covers inventory.
The entire shopping area was branded to promote the "revive" name. There is a 1959 VW bus coffee truck out front (revive with coffee), and the plaza is labeled Revive Village Commons. Great brand awareness in the area.
Pricing is 3 times net earnings plus 2/3 retail value of inventory. 2023 (most recent tax returns) showed $720000 in sales, but I am an absentee owner now, so volume is down about 30%. Plenty of room for growth for an owners who enjoys the hobby and wants to work the store. Honestly, I'm not a hobbyist and kind of fell into this. The modern sports card business involves lots of social media interaction and online "breaking". I'm in my 60's and this is a business for the young(er) entrepreneur.
It is manageable with 1 person, but the more you have the more you can earn as there is an endless thirst for sports and TCG cards.
