Business Description
Unique opportunity to own a beautiful NH recreational business and real estate.
This shooting preserve has been in existence since 1995, founded by the current owner. It operates as a Subchapter S Corporation.
Offered for sale is the business entity, including all tangible and intangible assets, as well as the real estate.
Established in 1995, the preserve is situated on 300+ acres of beautifully groomed cover. It offers bird hunts, shooting clays, memberships, dog training, guides, shooting supply shop, group events, and function space. The business breakdown is as follows:
Bird Hunts 47%
Shooting Clays 27%
Memberships 23%
Merchandise 3%
In the shadows of majestic northern pines are multiple individual hunting fields planted with an abundance of corn and ryegrass, separated by natural boundary lines allowing each hunting party to enjoy the excitement of being afield in a traditional setting. The fields are stocked with plenty of pheasant, quail, or Hungarian and chukar partridge.
The preserve also provides Sporting Clays, one of the fastest growing sports in the country. Originating in England this sport is the ultimate shotgun experience. A far cry from the regimented games of trap or skeet, sporting clays is designed for the wing shooter who wants to practice his shooting skills of wild game. Often referred to as golf with a shotgun, clay targets fly through the trees to simulate actual wild game, giving shooters the opportunity to practice each shot. In addition to the sporting clays, they also offer a fully automated 5 stand to practice those tough targets.
The shooting preserve accommodates corporate hunts, client outings, and group hunts with family and friends as sporting clays provides the perfect opportunity to get away, have some fun and enjoy the great outdoors.
The facility employs a full staff of qualified shooting instructors available by the hour for shooters of all levels. They offer sporting clays memberships, hunt reservations, and are also open to the general public. The onsite sport shop carries all gauges of shot shells, shooting vests, ear and eye protection and gun rentals.

Facilities & Assets
Sitting on 300+ wooded acres, the main shop and office building, built in 2000, is approximately 576 square feet and includes the reception area, shop, and offices. The clubhouse and kitchen facility is approximately 810 square feet. There are also bird breeding and housing sheds, including outdoor caging facilities. The physical condition of all buildings, out buildings, cages, equipment, and property are very good to excellent. All buildings, equipment, hunting fields, and sporting clay stations are on a consistent maintenance schedule.
Market Outlook / Competition
The seller believes that this shooting preserve has no real competitors in its geographic area. Its competitive advantage to other similar facilities in New England is that it provides more cover for birds as the fields are not wide open, which adds to the complexity of the hunt. Also, this shooting preserve is larger and more diverse than similar preserves as they feature 16 state-of-the-art sporting clay stations and 5 hunting fields.
Opportunities for Growth
The sellers have considered the following initiatives and improvements to positively impact profitability and scalability for new owners who would have much more energy and fresher eyes than the existing owner has after 30+ years of operating the preserve:
-Advertise more, as the business thrives solely on referrals and repeat clientele.
-Build cabins on the property to create a “stay and shoot” component which would be high demand for customers from outside of the day trip geographic area.
-Add canoe and kayak rentals.
-Create an 800-yard rifle range.
