A long established hardware and lumber yard with little or no direct competition. The hardware and lumber yard are 1.7 miles from downtown Glennallen, AK. Glennallen has a population of about 600 people. Glennallen is at the intersection of the Glenn Highway and the Richardson Highway. The store draws customers from the whole Copper River Valley(approximately 2300). The store offers a customer loyalty program that rewards customers for shopping local. Because of this reward program, we have over 800 active Best Rewards customers in the store monthly. The main store is 8600 SF. This includes all of the following departments, lawn and garden, paint, plumbing, hardware, nuts&bolts, electrical, housewares, pet supplies, sporting goods, automotive, hand and power tools. The store has more than 32,000 individual items. The paint department has a Xrite color matching computer along with (2) 1 gallon, and (1) 5 gallon shakers.
Next to the main store there is a warehouse. This warehouse has insulation, sheetrock, pipe threading machine, and other store stock and supplies. The warehouse is 2240 SF. A new additional to the store was solar panels. A 20KW solar array was installed on the roof of the warehouse in August 2024. The solar array will help to reduce our cost of electricity for the store along with reducing green house gasses.
A big plus for the store is a stand alone 2 bedroom mobile home behind the store. This can be used to house the owner or a future manager of the store. There is also a water well onsite.
The lumber yard has two rows of cover ground racks and a row of upright cantilever lumber racks.
In terms of equipment, the lumber yard has two forklifts, a 6000lb propane forklift and a 8000lb off road diesel forklift. The store has a F350 flatbed pickup truck that is used for delivery and as a snow plow truck. The store also has a GMC 6500 24'ft. flatbed truck used for delivery and pickup of material.

Market Outlook / Competition
The hardware store and lumber yard is the only hardware/lumber year for 115 miles in all directions. The store does compete with Palmer/Wasilla area depending on what the customer is shopping for. As in the general Alaska economy, our local economy is not currently growing. The local economy looks to be flat this year. Year-end and going forward into 2026 the economy and market will start growing. The future growth and potential is excellent.
Opportunities for Growth
A very good potential department to grow sales is in the rental business. The store currently has some small equipment along with a mini-ex, and skid steer for rent. Dedicating more space to rental would provide more income for the business. Current rental sales are around $30k for fiscal year 2024. Each year the rental business has grown.
