After five years of operating a small, Maine-based business designing, building, and selling picnic table boats (primarily in New England), I am in search of a creative, business-minded person or entity to essentially take the patent and run with it. I need to focus on my current career and family and do not possess the time or resources to grow the business and meet the now national demand for the product.

Maine Float's picnic table boats have been featured on national news outlets, Maine Cabin Masters, and most recently, the June 2025 issue of Downeast Magazine. The boats are a niche market, appealing to young and old alike while offering a truly unique open water experience without the expense of typical boat maintenance and storage, nor hauling of fuels or associated noise and exhaust challenges. For just over the cost of a similarly sized stretch of floating dock, the picnic table boat offers more utility with no shortage of novelty. We joke that introverts should be cautious as these watercraft draw significant attention. When you see one, you can't forget it; and where tables have sold, they've ultimately served to advertise the product to other buyers.

Ideally looking for someone who already has manufacturing acumen and/or is set up to meet national distribution logistics. Patent was issued 10/31/2023, and expires 6/8/2042.

Should someone desire to mass produce &/or alter the existing designs, the patent is broadly worded and covers a range of possibilities in design & materials. I have tools, trailers, picnic table boat demos and demo boats, plans, etc, all of which will be transferred to an exclusive patent licensee.
