The sale “ideally” would encompass two phases.
The first phase of the sale of the practice would be for the future sale of his entity tax returns (1120;1065, revenues of $50K), approximately 2024 or 2025.
The retiring CPA would move to your location and continue at your facilities while compensating you for the rent and support (software and administrative staff).
The second phase is that the retiring CPA has an additional 150 individual tax returns that he would like to continue to prepare over the next couple of years. At that time, you could take over the individual tax return phase of his business.
All the while, this retiring CPA has a certain acumen and experience with forensic accounting for which he would like to continue for the next several years.
Of utmost importance is that you have a brick-and-mortar location in Monroe County.
The terms and conditions of this sale, for the transition, are totally negotiable.
At this point in time, the owner’s health is excellent.
He plans to continue to work indefinitely as a viable component of this transaction.
