The company was founded April 1, 1980 in Mt. Pleasant, SC as a general purpose electronics service provider. In the beginning, the company served the consumer electronics market but soon redirected its focus to commercial two-way radio sales and service and marine electronics. Its proximity to the commercial fishing fleet and the local marinas greatly expanded the company reputation in the marine electronics field and for many years was one of the largest and most well known service providers to this clientele. In 1992 the company bought a local communications shop and with that sale acquired a Motorola Two-way Radio dealership. At this point the company is the oldest Motorola shop in the Charleston area and is authorized to sell and service Motorola Professional and Commercial Radios. The company is also a Motorola Fixed Data VAR. This part of Motorola focuses on Scada systems and remote control using various methods of communications. The company has designed and installed water/wastewater control and monitoring systems for many of the local governments in the area as well as designing and installing control and monitoring systems for utility clients. As time progressed the company has gained expertise in many areas. A decision was made to redirect the focus on recreational marine electronics and concentrate more on the commercial marine market. Margins and time efficiencies were better in the commercial market but with company's reputation, the recreational marine market, which has grown tremendously in the last decade, could easily be reentered if so desired.
