Broker Biography
Introduction
Omar Garcia is the managing partner of VR Business Brokers – San Antonio (VRSA). He is an industry leader that has consistently achieved results while maintaining the highest levels of integrity and business ethics personally and throughout the entire organization.
Omar is one of 12 business brokers in the state of Texas and the only one in San Antonio to hold the CBI & M&AMI designations. The CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) is the most prestigious designation granted by the IBBA (International Business Brokers Association) and the M&AMI (Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary) is an elite designation granted by M&A Source that requires both educational credits and the successful completion of multiple middle-market transactions.
Prior to VR business Brokers, Omar had a distinguished corporate career in M&A, Strategic Planning and Brand Management functions. Some of Omar’s key achievements in the corporate world were:
• While in an M&A function Omar performed the financial modeling leading to the sale of 22% of FEMSA’s beer division (Mexico’s largest beer company) for $510 million. The enterprise value of the business was $2.3 billion dollars. During this transaction Omar worked with some of the top Investment Bankers in the world such as JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley.
• Omar led many strategic projects that aimed to transform and maximize shareholder value and worked hand in hand with some of the top business consulting companies in the world such as Mckinsey, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Booz Allen Hamilton.
• Omar is also responsible for re-launching and significantly accelerating the growth of multiple brands in the beverage industry (Tecate, Clamato, Dr Pepper, etc) earning him the title of “Marketer of the Next Generation” by the trade magazine Brandweek.
Omar earned a Finance MBA and Mechanical Engineering degrees from Monterrey’s Tec in Monterrey, Mexico. He is a Real Estate Broker in Texas and Oklahoma. Omar is highly involved in his church and community, serving in the Life Teen Ministry for Catholic Youth and ACTS retreats.
