Mr. Spilky established himself as a pioneer in the industry combined with an aggressive, creative flair by opening and operating a healthy fast food chain, FAST & NATURAL, and developing a wholesale food product company, RAINBOW FOOD SERVICE. Mr. Spilky, as a licensed California Real Estate Broker, and his associates developed a specialized RESTAURANT BROKERAGE/SITE SELECTION practice with Corporate offices in West Los Angeles specializing in the exclusive representation of established full service and casual dining and QSR operators in their expansion programs relative to restaurant business and leasehold opportunities, restaurant conversions and repositioning, purchase options, build to suits, and ground leasing including real estate purchase and sale leasebacks.This focused niche in retail tenant/landlord representation has enabled his company to establish an APPRAISAL/VALUATION & EXPERT WITNESS service thru the Judicial Court system with a comprehensive professional source for accomplishing their location/leasehold, real property and personal/business validation requirements.

Comprehensive research library and tenant/landlord restaurant leasehold comparables for over 20 years solidify and support this practice.Mr. Spilky as a speaker and guest lecturer has offered a course entitled “SUCCESSFUL RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT” at the UCLA EXTENSION DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT in their HOSPITALITY FOODSERVICE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. Since 1982, he has taught a course in the “THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY-ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES FOR START-UP & EXPANSION” graduating over 2500 students. Since 1981, he has been a speaker in annual programs of the California, Washington, and Colorado Restaurant Associations. He was honored by the Irvine Company as Broker of the Year 2001 for his restaurant real estate work on his BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse deal at the Tustin Marketplace in Irvine, Orange County, California.
He pursued his education through the California State University system, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology with a specialty in Organizational Development and Human Resources.Mr. Spilky is a member of the California Association of Realtors, California Restaurant Association, International Council of Restaurant Brokers, Association of Commercial Real Estate, International Council of Shopping Centers, serves on The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles Cabinet and the San Diego State University School of Hospitality Advisory Board.
