About the Company
One of the primary engines powering the Pacific Northwest economy are the privately held and family owned manufacturing plants, wholesale & distribution companies, retail businesses, technology firms, service companies, wineries & hospitality businesses, and professional practices that operate within the borders of Washington, Oregon, & Idaho. IBA has successfully negotiated and facilitated the sale over 4300 companies from almost twenty general industry categories since 1975. Our past transactions have included retail businesses in regional malls, marine oriented manufacturing plants in coastal communities, celebrity owned restaurants, cat oriented veterinary hospitals, software & E commerce businesses, franchises, promotional product companies, accounting practices, neighborhood florist shops, art galleries, and even a wholesale balloon distributor.
The simple fact is that IBA in almost half a century of representing business owners has sold almost every type of business that participates in the Pacific Northwest economy. This transactional experience provides IBA’s professional business brokers with the market knowledge required to successfully complete transactions for our clients that accurately incorporate current market conditions and industry specific information.
Broker Biography
Introduction
International Business Associates, commonly known as IBA, was established in 1975 by a group of experienced business brokerage professionals who believed that they could provide better customer service, market knowledge, transactional experience, and professional representation while maintaining confidentiality than was currently available to the Pacific Northwest business community. On this foundation of experience and principles, IBA has grown into the regional leader in business sale transactions involving manufacturing plants, wholesale & distribution companies, technology firms, retail businesses, service companies, vocational schools, wineries & hospitality businesses, and professional practices. Our primary historical venues for business have been the Pacific Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Idaho; however our reputation & representation has not been contained by those geographic boundaries with IBA professionals being hired on a consulting basis to negotiate and represent businesses as far east as Massachusetts, New York, and North Carolina and south as California and Arizona.

Services Provided
Selection of IBA for representation because of our nearly fifty-year track record of achieving results is justification enough for most of our clients. However, there are six other reasons why a business owner should use IBA to broker the sale of their business.
Ethics – IBA is a business brokerage firm with integrity. Transactions negotiated by IBA are positive experiences for both the seller and buyer.
Transactional Experience - IBA has completed over 4300 transactions involving privately held companies and family owned businesses. Transactions negotiated by IBA are trips down a familiar path with an experienced guide.
Market Knowledge – Knowledge related to market conditions, past industry transactions, historical benchmarks, legal precedents, tax law changes, and financing availability can impact transactions. Business owners represented by IBA are provided with the information needed to make intelligent decisions.
Negotiation Skill – The sale of a business is a multi-tiered complicated negotiation. It requires experience, market knowledge, problem solving ability, and excellent communication skills. IBA representation has all of those characteristics.
Customer Service – IBA professionals understand the value of a promptly returned telephone call or email. We also recognize that you need to run your company while the business is on the market and our associates are available for meetings in the early morning, evening, and on weekends.
Confidentiality – IBA professionals recognize that if the knowledge that you are considering the sale of your company became public it could adversely impact your relationships with your employees, customers, suppliers and the value of the company. It is our solemn pledge that no one extraneous to a potential transaction will learn about the company’s sale status from us without your permission.
