Company Information:
Hilton Head Island's oldest and most successful business brokerage. We have been bringing buyers and sellers of businesses together for over twenty five years. Our understanding and experience of the local business community is unrivaled. Having owned and operated small businesses personally we are ideally equipped to act as broker in our area business sales.
Background:
The late Bob Steinberg founded the brokerage in the 1980's after a successful career managing his own chain of retail furniture stores in Detroit. He had sold over four hundred local businesses during his tenure.
Bruce Raw joined Hilton Head Business brokers in 1994 after owning and operating five small businesses locally since arriving on the island in 1989. Prior to that he was part owner and operator of a successful public company in the retail sector. Will O'Grady also moved to the island in 1989 and also owned and operated several businesses before developing his own business & commercial real estate brokerage with Searchlight Realty.
After Bob's retirement in 2009, Bruce and Will merged their practices as Hilton Head Business Brokerage providing full service brokerage for small to medium size businesses & commercial real estate. Both Will & Bruce are intimately familiar with the process & requirements for overseas investor visa transactions (having done it personally) and with the process that many buyers go through in transitioning & relocating from their corporate or primary career - also having gone through it themselves.
Mike Russo, who joined the team in 2013, has developed, owned and operated the largest family entertainment facility in the area for more than 20 years; in addition has developed both commercial and residential projects here on Hilton Head Island.
Services Provided
With each of the brokers within our firm, being business owners and operators ourselves, we understand the decision process that is a part of the process when, as an owner, you begin considering the idea of selling. What is our business worth, how do we determine its value, how do we offer it for sale, etcetera.
At Hilton Head Business Brokers, we will perform a detailed valuation for your business for discussion purposes in order to determine an asking price. If you choose to list with us at that time, there is no fee for this service, and we will work solely on a commission basis.
If you choose not to list with us at this time, or are simply seeking a written, business valuation, we will develop an objective, professional valuation of your business. Our fee for this service is dependent upon the complexity and degree of documentation required. However, should you list your business with us within one year of the valuation, we will credit this fee against against our commission.
We handle all of the marketing, and deal directly with all of the potential buyers. If there are questions which we cannot answer, we will communicate with you, and then respond back to the interested party. We will be present at any meetings with the buyer, and once an offer is made, we handle all of the negotiations.
