Introduction

My name is Adam Whelchel. I'm a Business Broker Associate with FL Business Sales, working with trade business owners across Central Florida, primarily HVAC, electrical, and plumbing companies generating $5M or more in annual revenue.

I came to business brokerage in December 2024 after a decade in accounting and bookkeeping. I own an accounting firm specializing in financial cleanup, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
That financial foundation now anchors my work on every engagement, with particular strengths in business valuation, quality-of-earnings analysis, and financial accuracy — the areas where deals most often stall or unravel.

I also bring the perspective of a business owner who has done the work I ask my clients to do. I have successfully removed myself from day-to-day operations at both my accounting firm and a small downtown retail store I own, where I've built teams of managers and staff who run each business in my absence. This gives me a practical understanding of what it takes to transition from owner-operator to owner — a key driver of transferable business value — and I help my brokerage clients do the same.
