About the Company
Founded in 2011, Capital Area Business Brokers (CABB) is a full-service business brokerage firm specializing in the sale and acquisition of businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. CABB helps business owners navigate the complexities of preparing, marketing, valuing, and selling their businesses while providing buyers with professional guidance throughout the acquisition process.
CABB was founded by Michael, President and Principal Broker, who brings more than 27 years of business ownership and management experience to the firm. His background includes owning and operating multiple Subway franchises and a Papa’s Pizza to Go franchise, managing a Liberty Tax Service franchise, and serving as a Field Consultant for Subway, where he helped open more than 30 locations. This firsthand experience as both a business owner and advisor gives CABB a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities involved in buying and selling a business.
Michael entered the real estate industry in 2007 as a Business Broker with ABBN Business Brokerage. After relocating to Northern Virginia in 2010, he continued his career with Coldwell Banker Commercial and earned his real estate broker’s license in 2014.
In 2021, Michael expanded CABB’s capabilities by establishing Capital Area Real Estate Services (CARES), creating a one-stop resource for business owners and investors seeking both business brokerage and commercial real estate services. Together, CABB and CARES provide clients with comprehensive support for business sales, acquisitions, and the commercial real estate needs that often accompany them.
With decades of combined business, brokerage, and commercial real estate experience, CABB is committed to helping clients determine where they want to go—and providing the expertise and guidance to help them get there.

Introduction
Michael brings more than 24 years of hands-on business ownership, operations, franchising, and brokerage experience. He and his brother personally owned and operated seven Subway franchise locations while also working with Subway Development Corporation. Michael also owned a Papa’s Pizza To Go franchise, giving him firsthand experience with both independent and franchise business ownership.
In 2011, Michael founded Capital Area Business Brokerage LLC, helping business owners navigate the process of selling their businesses and assisting buyers in finding the right opportunities. In 2020, he expanded his services by forming Capital Area Real Estate Services LLC.
Michael’s extensive experience as a business owner and broker gives him a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities involved in buying or selling a business. He understands the process from the owner’s side and is committed to providing knowledgeable, professional guidance throughout each transaction.
