Introduction
John Burley is a highly regarded expert in business consulting, management, mergers and acquisitions, training, and growing both entrepreneurial companies and divisions of large enterprises.
John is the principal consultant at Burley Consulting a national management consulting firm based in Washington DC. His primary areas of expertise include business planning, business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring, due diligence, strategic growth planning, market positioning, marketing communications, and training.
Over the course of his career, John has served as President, Vice President, Director, and Board Member of companies ranging in size from $1 million to $200 million in annual revenues. With over 19 years experience in operations, marketing, management, technology, and M&A, John has led numerous growth plans, turn-arounds, corporate acquisitions, small business purchases, and start-ups, as well as led sales and marketing teams, marketing initiatives, project teams, and finance departments.
Mr. Burley is faculty for the American Management Association and is also a published author of articles on various business and professional subjects including business management and finance, mergers and acquisitions, education and training, business planning and valuation. He has been an expert guest on talk shows, and has delivered numerous seminars and trainings on topics including corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, communications, and training and education. Inc. Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazine are two of the publications Mr. Burley has been featured in.
As a leader in the church and community, John has also served in roles ranging from volunteer to chairman. He has taught classes and after school programs for 12 years, published the newsletter for multiple schools, served on education enrichment committees, and served as a volunteer at the county and state level. Mr. Burley has also served the community as a coach for more than 20 seasons, volunteers for numerous community outreach projects, and serves on staff at his church. He is the recipient of numerous awards from the State of Maryland, the Montgomery County Council of PTAs, Board of Education, and has contributed to numerous award-winning projects including the Award for State Neighborhood Project of the Year and the Award for Outstanding Local Government Innovation.
