27 Museum Quality Historically Important Large Oil Paintings for Sale

Asking Price: $1,450,000

Asset Sale Description
Must See Opportunity
Jim has owned Aspen Fine Art Gallery, Breckenridge Fine Art Gallery, Sante Fe Fine Art Gallery, Beaver Creek Fine Art Gallery, and is winding down Vail Fine Art Gallery. Jim has fully retired and is offering his best 27 artworks from both Vail Fine Arts and his Personal Collection for sale at the lowest price ever.

As of 6/17/25 Jim has lowered the price from 2.25M to only 1.45M for the 27 Museum-Quality Historically Important Ukrainian and Russian paintings. He prefers to sell the entire collection together. The 27 signature pieces are being offered for less than 10% of what the collection was priced at 10 years ago and 35% of what they were being offered for 3 years ago. Jim strongly believes they should be sold together and belongs in a museum.

Jim has held onto several of his favorite and most impressive pieces over the years for their size, quality, and wow factor in the Galleries and others were personal favorites that he kept at his personal residence. Collectively, they have tremendous future value either here or in Ukraine and Russia. It doesn’t help Jim to hold onto these artworks at this stage of his life.

The art is in a temperature-controlled storage facility near Coors Field in Denver and can be shown by appointment only for serious buyers.

This should be a great investment and an impressive and enjoyable portfolio of fine art to display at home, office, and/or in a museum. You could also set up your own for-profit gallery.

The Seller believes that there is the potential for a buyer to make 5M worth of “profit” over the next 5 to 15 years off of this artwork. Its cyclical and it is common for master painters to take a long time to be recognized and valued like the masters that they are. Plus buyers can schedule the museum quality pieces into museums as an exhibit where the art will get attention and articles written about them. This can lead to offers. Just holding onto these pieces should result in a high rate of return over time. Buyers could also feature several pieces at a time in a Fine Art Gallery in a major city on consignment. Can also rotate pieces between museums and the Gallery making it clear the collection is for sale. The Seller also believes that copies of the largest and most famous of these works would sell easily for a nice profit which can be done various ways by the owner of the original. The ability to do this has improved greatly over the years.

The collection is validated through various types of provenance. The future is good for those who get in at any cyclical bottom and are ready for the next buying cycle to return, as it always does. Many Oligarchs, Ukrainian, and Russian Museums will eventually have a strong interest in this collection.
